Evidence-Based Guides on How To Improve Skin Complexion

The purpose of skinmaxxing.org is to share what I have learned about the science of skin quality. Besides factors like body fat and hair, skin is one of the most important aspects of physical appearance. Even with good facial features, issues like acne, scars, uneven tone, or sun damage can have a major impact on overall appearance. There are a variety of treatments and interventions out there to improve skin quality. On skinmaxxing.org, I write about topics like how to build a morning and night skincare routine, retinol versus tretinoin, the best diet for good skin, microdose accutane, and fraxel laser for acne scars.

For years, I struggled with persistent acne and felt like I had tried everything without success. I spent money on countless products, followed advice from social media, and constantly switched routines, only to deal with more breakouts, redness, and frustration. The acne affected my confidence and made me self-conscious in photos and social situations. Looking back, I wish I had understood the causes of acne and followed evidence-based treatments sooner instead of wasting so much time and money on ineffective solutions.

Now, I’m happy to say that my acne is relatively mild, and I’m on my way to fully clearing it. Currently, I’m completing my second course of an oral medication called Accutane, and alongside that, I’m doing a program called Unwinding Anxiety to reduce my anxiety. This treatment plan has been extremely effective for me so far. By reading the articles on SkinMaxxing, you can learn more about evidence-based treatments/interventions and prepare to discuss an appropriate plan with (a) qualified medical professional(s) (e.g., a dermatologist).
